In September I will be travelling to Zambia with twelve colleagues to work with Habitat for Humanity ("HfH") in the area of Kamanga.
HfH operates an Orphans and Vulnerable Groups (OVG) programme in Zambia, which looks to provide shelter solutions to at risk children, young people and women. The project will involve building two houses in the area of Kamanga, which is just outside of Lusaka. This is a really deprived area where the majority of those who live there are without running water, power and safe housing.
As many of you know, I first worked with HfH in Zambia two years ago. The experience gave me a greater appreciation of the brilliant/vital work they do and I came back wanting to do more. As a result, I trained with HfH to be a Team Leader for international projects and this will be the first trip I lead.
If the trip is anything like the last one it will be exhausting and emotionally draining but also the most incredible thing to be part of.
Thank you for your support!
